Tormenta en el desierto es el primer esfuerzo de nuestra editorial por buscar una voz propia dentro de la geografía que habita entre la frontera y el desierto. Al mismo tiempo, es una invitación a construir un espacio más para que escritores y escritoras que viven entre México y Estados Unidos, en esta extrañada condición fronteriza, encuentren un lugar donde su escritura pueda resonar, gritar, romper.
Tema de esta edición: la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos
Título: Tormenta en el desierto
After the Storm lanza una nueva convocatoria para su antología digital Black Thunder. Esta edición busca reunir cuentos, ensayos y poemas que exploren, cuestionen o reinventen el concepto de frontera, con especial énfasis en la región entre México y Estados Unidos.
La convocatoria está abierta al público en general, pero se dará prioridad a quienes vivan en la frontera entre estos dos países. Se aceptan textos en español, en inglés o en ambos idiomas.
📝 Géneros aceptados:
– Cuento (máx. 2,000 caracteres)
– Ensayo (máx. 2,000 caracteres)
– Poesía (hasta 3 poemas por participante)
Cada participante podrá enviar más de una obra, pero se deberá llenar un formulario distinto por cada envío.
📄 Condiciones editoriales:
– El proceso editorial, de diseño y publicación puede tomar entre 90 a 120 días.
– Un comité editorial leerá y dictaminará la aceptación o rechazo de las obras, y su decisión será inapelable.
– No se notificará de forma personal el rechazo de una obra; los resultados se publicarán en las redes sociales oficiales.
– Las obras no tienen que ser inéditas, pero el autor debe conservar los derechos de autor y de explotación.
– No hay ningún costo por participar ni por ser seleccionado.

📚 Call for Digital Literary Anthologies
Theme of this edition: the Mexico–U.S. border
Title: Tormenta en el desierto
After the Storm is now accepting submissions for the new edition of Black Thunder, our digital literary anthology. This edition is dedicated to exploring, questioning, and reinventing the concept of the border, particularly the Mexico–U.S. region.
The call is open to the general public, with priority given to those living along the border between the two countries. Submissions are accepted in Spanish, English, or both languages.
📝 Accepted genres:
– Short story (max. 2,000 characters)
– Essay (max. 2,000 characters)
– Poetry (up to 3 poems per participant)
Participants may submit more than one piece, but each submission must be entered using a separate form.
📄 Editorial conditions:
– The editorial, design, and publication process may take 90 to 120 days.
– A review committee will determine acceptance or rejection of submissions. Decisions are final.
– Rejected works will not receive personal notifications. Results will be announced publicly on our official social media.
– Works do not need to be unpublished, but authors must retain copyright and publication rights.
– There is no fee to participate or be selected.
